Fynbos Guest Farm & Animal Sanctuary - Self Catering Farm Style Accommodation + Camping in Wolseley, Cape Winelands, Western Cape

Welcome to Fynbos Guest Farm in Wolseley! Fynbos Guest Farm is a 64 hectare retreat of farm land, fynbos and renosterbos.  We are only 90 minutes away from Cape Town, in the 'Valley of Abundance' - the Witzenberg Valley, bordering Tulbagh and Ceres.  We are located in the small town of Wolseley, in the heart of the Cape Winelands.​

We are a working farm, and you will always see somebody busy, whether it is felling alien trees, digging, fixing or general maintenance. We have a speed-limit of 15km per hour - for the safety of our guests, children, dogs, birds, animals and to keep the dust down! We have a "no-noise" policy and expect guests to always respect the privacy and peace of our 'home' and that of fellow guests..

Renowned for our flowers, visitors from all over visit Fynbos guest farm to view our extensive flower species and grass species.   This is not to mention, the diverse fauna on the farm, from tortoises, Grysbok, mongoose, steenbok and abundant birdlife.

We have been regarded by many as one of the best in the country and listed as one of the top 10 'things to experience' by various media.

Fynbos Guest Farm Accommodation

Cottages

We have 3 self catering cottages. Each cottage is fully equipped, with linen, towels, etc.  Each cottage has an indoor fireplace and an outdoor braai area. Cottages are air-conditioned.

• Francolin cottage sleeps 4 [preferably for 2 adults and 2 children - ideal for a family or very good friends].
• Guinea Fowl Cottage sleeps 2 - ideal for a couple.  
• Owl Cottage sleeps 4 persons [2 bedrooms]. Please note the 2nd bedroom has 2 single bunk beds in the second bedroom - suitable for children.
• Please discuss bringing dogs with if you book to stay in the cottages

We do sell bags of firewood for R30.00 and ice at R10 a bag. Please help yourself during your stay and then settle up when you leave - we work on a trust basis.

Breakfast & Dining

We offer a delicious Breakfast Basket - a continental spread delivered to your cottage in a picnic basket for R100 per person.  Please note that It is important to request this on booking!

You can visit our Restaurant, located at the bottom of our farm. A short walk and you can enjoy breakfasts, lunches and delicious cakes.  We also have a farmstall filled with wonderful items

Another alternative is to have home cooked meals delivered to your cottage!  Reasonable prices and really great food and generous portions. Ask about this option when you arrive.

Camping + Caravaning

10 Camp sites (each site is fairly private, nestled in the fynbos). Clean and beautifully decorated ablution facilities, serviced daily, electric points; no water at the sites but water can be collected nearby from the Ablution Block, braai areas, communal braai area, 2 x small plunge pools. There is a small fridge available for everyone to use.  If you need anything - we are always happy to oblige where we can.

We operate on Borehole water and follow waterwise principles - therefore our sites are covered in crusher chips and are NOT grassed.

Furnished Tents: We provide our guests with a fully equipped tent - comfortable and yet still 'out-in-the-bush' roughing it. This way it is so much easier, you arrive, your site is all set-up for you. All you need to do is park your car, open a bottle of wine / beer and enjoy your stay with us!

Firewood - a bag is sold at R30.00 each. Help yourself to the bags, and let us know at the end of your stay - we work on a trust basis!

 

Fynbos Guest Farm Venue

We have a beautiful outdoor covered Lapa area with a catering area, plug points and lighting.  This partially covered area merges with the outdoors is the perfect venue for informal and relaxed functions and events.

Our rustic conference room can accommodate up to 15 seated people complete with conference utilities such as proxima, screen, laptop, sound, whiteboard and flipchart. A spacious catering section, with bathroom.  Try having your next meeting or function in the country surrounded by mountains and animals. Catering provided.

Fynbos Café & Farmstall

The restaurant situated at the bottom of the farm is the perfect venue for gatherings, lunches and informal functions. We also stock various deli products and local produce, preserves, honey, olive oils and much much more.

Fynbos Guest Farm Animal Sanctuary

The Animal Sanctuary offers our guests and day visitors a wonderful experience to see and interact with the rescued and re-homed animals.  From zebra, llamas, alpacas to horses, ostriches and springbok, and a whole lot of other interesting furry and feathered friends.  A wonderful family outing.

We have successfully rehabilitated and released numerous Eagle owls, Barn Owls and other raptors. We have various animals in our farmyard and our guests are invited to interact with them and feed the animals.  Everyone is welcome to bring along apples, carrots, bread, lettuce, etc and feed the animals.

Though "pet-friendly", we expect guests who have been given permission to bring along their pet/s to respect that our animals, birds, pigs etc live in complete harmony and are not accustomed to ever being chased or harassed in any way! Dogs need to be on a leash when leaving the camp/ caravan area and children are expected to treat all animals and other livestock with respect and care.
